For you that are considering the WalMart Ever Start battery here is a tip.
Look at the dates on the batteries in stock and if possible tell the clerk you want Only...A New Fresh One on there next delivery of your fit size.
That's what I do and you can gain 6 months or more on the HHR battery date because they move/sell slowly.
Don't forget they charge you a core charge so save your receipt so you can take your old battery or any old battery back for a refund.

And wherever you get a new battery, I always charge it on a small 1.5 amp smart charger just to top it up. Since it has been sitting a bit.

Pepboys is running a 25% off on batteries right now. Never used Champion batteries but as others have pointed out most are made in the same place.
The one they have in stock here is 650 cca which seems like a great deal.

Anyone else managing to still run on their factory battery? I still have the original in my 06 and starting to get a little paranoid seeing as its coming up on 15 years.....

Ryan- Sounds like you may have the record for battery longevity. Mine was still testing good, both Load tests & static) but heading into winter, I decided to replace mine at
10+ years. Not fond of pushing rides anymore.

Apparently, I am... and it just died. '07, 118,000 miles.
