Well I just went looking for my cabin filter. Found it, pulled it out. It was horrible. It wasn't simply discolored or dirty. More like a Hepa Vacum cleaner container exploded when I got it out. I had no idea but if anyone has not ever changed it, might be a good thing to do.

FYI, It does not go back in the slot very easy. Need to kind of umph here and do that their Doesn't come in and out straight. Kind goes up at an angle then in sor of like a up in and over. Once you do it the first time, it'll be better the second time

Another tip for the dryer sheet........

Tuck the ends of it into the folds. May have to cut a sheet in half

No, it'll just help hold it in place when you put the filter back in.

Kind of funy, yesterday when I took my HHR in for its Oil Change/Tire rotation I asked if they could look at the air filter. They said air filter was alright, but the cabin filter was real bad.

It was the first time I had heard of the Cabin filer, we have 65,000 miles on it so I am guessing it was pretty nasty. (I saw it, it did look like the heppa vaccum someone else mentioned) I heard the staff talking about cabin filters to other customers so I was unsure if they were just pushing it, but in reading these posts looks legit and it should be changed about once a year. Wife said she noticed a difference driving as the inside did not have that smell she had been talking about
