cabin air filter INTAKE
This has been discussed in a lot of other forums as well. I have read most of them and the correct way to eliminate the odor is to turn off the A/C mode approx. five minutes before you reach your destination and turn the fan on high mode with the outside fresh air mode. This dries out the venting system so no mold will form. If you google in this problem, there are some companies that manufacture some type of "anti-mold" spray.
I live in Melbourne Beach, Florida...where it is really hot, hot, hot. I have a 2009 Chev. LT2, Silver, (best color for Florida sun)and constantly use the A/C on high and as cold as it can get. Approx. 3 or 4 miles from arriving home, I turn the A/C mode off and turn the recirculate "OFF" to allow the "outside hot air" IN... and turn the fan as high as it will go to evaporate the moisture inside the ducts. I have lived in Florida since 1993 and have done this with every car I have owned and have NEVER had the "MUSTY SMELL".
Remember, the "recirculate must be off" when doing this.
Hope this reply helps, if not try the anti-musty spray.

it is in between the windshield and the hood...where the windshield wipers are...on the drivers side....i turn the ac on high , crack open the windows a little so the fan can run full speed , and spray 1/4 - 1/2 can of lysol....you could also spray it in the exhuast vents when off , and inside the filter housing .
