change oil soon message

When you do your own oil change, will this message go away automatically, or do you have to do something to "reset" it?

After I change mine, I just turn on the key (don't start it) and press/release the accelerator repeatedly. (it's something like 7 or 10 times). That resets the oil life counter.

I turn the key on (not started) press the info button on the steering wheel scroll thru to you get to oil life then press and hold the reset button looks like a left arrow this should reset oil life back to 100%
hope this helps,

It's 3 times within 5 seconds.......that's the standard GM oil life reset for cars w/o a D.I.C. but it also works on the HHR.

Same here. Tried the "gas pedal 3 pump method". Didn't work for my 2010 SS. Must just work for certain year/models.
