Changing spark plugs--what interval
My 2011 HHR has 62,000 miles on the priginal factory plugs. Runs good, mileage OK and no problems. How often do you guys (and gals) change your plugs? Do you also replace the plug wires at that time? Many thanks, James C:

My Owner Manual states 100,000 miles.

I had mine changed at 60K miles and again at 120K miles. The plugs still looked good at those miles. Cheap insurance to insure the car kept running good.

"peace of mind" implies that you have experienced a catastrophic failure of a spark plug recently.
Exactly what do you think the result of a worn out spark plug could be? Or maybe you think that polluting the landfill with extra heavy metals (iridium) is a good thing. Maybe it is. |
Go with the factory plugs ac delco just inspect them for any cracks and no gaping at all there preset already... And if you want put some anti seize toward the top of the threads for easy out next change .. Oh by the 90,000 for the change:twothumbs:
