Thank you for this great tutorial! Would not have had a clue unless i had a shop manual. Did this job in fifteen minutes and saved some dough.

What exactly do I ask for, do I get it at any chevy dealership? How much? From what I'm reading it seems to be a must have.
Thanks

Danny- What you look for is a GMPP CAI for hhr. It fits the 2.2 & 2.4 hhrs ..

If the dealer can get it, expect to pay over $400.. I'd 'google it' & look for online GM dealers, should save ya a few pennies..

FWIW: this is not gonna add big power, maybe a couple ponies, more of a cosmetic upgrade.. But is a nice set-up, & only one GM approved.

And don't forget they are an "audio" upgrade too sleeper, they give a nice snarl, especially when combined a GMPP exhaust.

After I saw what was entailed in changing the air filter element I decided against reusing the stock setup and opted for the K&N airbox and filter kit. From now on it is two(2) screws to check it and 3 to change or clean it. They do not make this 'kit' for the 2.2 so I bought one for the 2.4 and redrilled the back 2 mounting holes, only mod necessary to make it fit the 2.2. Also about half the price of the GMPP unit.

Thanks for the info, I want one just for the ease of changing filter

That is why I got this K&N. I don't think you will notice any power increase as the stock setup is pretty efficent but cleaning, checking and changing filter will definately be a lot easier.

Yes, as Mod Mike mentioned there will be an Intake noise when ya press on the 'go pedal', with about any aftermarket set-up..

Personally I like my 2.4 quiet, & my Harleys LOUD !!!
