Chrome Cleaner

Honest, I use the search function before I ask any questions. Thanks for your understanding. I have a ton of chrome, I think it is probably not real chrome, so before I use the wrong product here, what do you guys use ? Manual lists GM products, but not going to the dealer for that. I know putting on the wrong cleaner can cause big problems.

Guess it depends on what parts. Roof rack, door handles, front grill (some models), etc are chrome. Most of the wheels were not chrome... Anything aftermarket could be whatever.

Everything mentioned above I just wash with whatever the car gets washed with and then waxed along with the rest of the car. I don't do anything special for the "chrome" parts.

OP- Unless your chrome needs rejuvenated, I would avoid any waxes with heavy cleaners in them. Too abrasive. (especially for plastic chrome.)
Something with carnuba in it is pretty good.

1. If you want to make chromed metal shiny: use regular toothpaste, preferably with a teeth whitening function. Just apply on the felt and vigorously work on the chrome part. But cover the painted parts with molar tape so that your colored enamel does not become dull. If there is no felt, a fleece rag or even a brush is suitable.
Solvent 646 removes plaque on chrome metal well.
Rust is removed from chromed metal by aluminum foil. The one your wife uses to bake chicken in the oven, or the one you can extract from a bar of chocolate. Take the foil in the palm of your hand, crumple into a loose ball and ust vigorously rusty place.
2. If your chrome is a plastic part ... Take a dishwashing detergent. Feri or something like that. You can also use citric acid or just half a lemon. There should not be an abrasive.
Still .. pay attention to the numerous potions for cleaning chrome plumbing. They are cheap and there are millions of them.
