Chevy HHR Network - Cleaning your cloth seats

I have a Bissell Powersteamer with the Powerbrush attachment. The power brush attachment is for cleaning furniture.

The name of the machine is a little misleading as there is no steam involved, just hot tap water. You cant use very hot water {like boiling water} as the tanks are made of soft plastic and would be ruined if you used really hot water.

The thing is intended to be used by the average home owner on the carpets in their home but it works just fine on my furniture and in my cars.

Be aware you are going to have some darn damp seats and rugs in your car if you use one.

I generally wait for a nice day to do mine.

I pre-treat any bad spots with an oxy cleaner product I get at the dollar tree store then just use carpet cleaner recommended for my machine. Plan on leaving the doors on your buggy open all day and maybe put a fan or two in to help dry it up.

The first time I did my HHR was when the kid we were baby sitting dumped his milkshake in the back seat. As soon as I noticed he had dumped it I used all the napkins and stuff I keep in the glove box to get the worst of it cleaned up.

It wasn't until the next day that I used the carpet machine on the rest of it. Since that seat came out so well I did the rest of the car.
