Cooling system hose replacement

My hhr will have 50,000 miles on it, and will be 5 years old, when i have the collong system drained, flushed, and refilled. Should i have the chevy dealer relace all of the hoses at that time?

I'd wait myself. I would wait until at least 100k myself.

Depends on the condition of the hoses. If they look brand new with no swells, cracks, or soft spots, then you could wait. Don't forget to look inside each hose as well. The damages starts there and moves outward. If they look worn inside, replace them before you have any other future problems. But at 50000 miles, you should be fine.

I won't change them yet. the factory hoses seem to better than aftermarket hoses. factory hoses seem to last alot longer than the old days.

I agee. My '97 S10 with 98K still has org hoses. Still waiting for one to leak.

I would wait on the hoses, unless they look bad. Personally, I don't think I'm going to flush my coolant when I get my HHR back out (since it's 5 years old now, with 50k). I think I'll let it go a little longer.

With the Dex-Cool, I would indeed flush & fresh fill at the 5 yr point.

Flush and fresh fill + new hoses at five years, maybe wasteful, maybe too cautious...but I'd rather err on the side of caution, than pay a big repair bill later on.
