Interesting read, but not sure where they got their details, suggestions and facts from, but there are quite a few flaws in the info. ie: " Northstar engines are made of aluminum and thus are prone to overheating." Yup, being made of aluminium was a bad choice cause that makes them overheat - should have been made of what - titanium?

And the procedure to change the coolant in a Northstar engine is laughable with several bad suggestions to the point of being dangerous - sure, open that rad cap after refilling and warming it back up, and splash some hot antifreeze in my face.

Whopper, the article talks about what makes Dex Cool, Dex Cool. Didn't care about propaganda that might have been started after that.

I suggest reading ONLY the first article, the rest are 90% BS. Note the "about the author" sections; a Physical Therapist? a Professional Writer? an AlGoreithm for fact checking?

Thank you
Only wanted to inform people about it. Didn't know there were other things posted.
As they say "My Bad" didn't continue down the page to proof read my link.

No problem - like don says, the first article was interesting, just too bad they packed the other stuff on the same page, which had a bunch of bad info .

As someone who worked at D/Ham doing processing on the Engine Dress Line in those days, I agree. The worst were the cooled (by coolant) Delphi alternators. There were tons of issues with leaks. Getting a Denso alternator that could handle the heat in that cramped underhood space solved a lot of troubles in 2001/02.

Northstar fuel injector connections still occasionally give me nightmares. Why they couldn't use slick connectors like the 3.8...
