New rear shocks installed. Jacked it up, removed the wheel and in less than 1 minute, new shock installed. Installed tire and over to the other side. Same story. Now I dont condone this, but I didnt even place a jack stand under the car. I had the jack stand next to me but forgot to place it. It went that fast. I just wanted to see if the bolts would come loose with the impact and both came out in seconds. In less than 5 minutes all the tools were put away and I was having a cold one. Again, not the safest way but the only part of my body under the car ( wheel well) was my hands. Watched a you tube vid and they had to use a torch for the bottom bolt.I was expecting the same and would have put jack stands in place if that was the situation. kinda felt like a nascrap pit crew for a little bit there.lol She rides very nice.
In NASCAR, the pit stewards would hold you a lap, if they caught anyone on the crew sticking any part under the car, hands included.
Next, wheel chaulks and jack stands, first, then you can safely , see how them bolts came out.
did you disconnect the brake hose brackets, while the suspension was under suspension?
It went down 1/8th of an inch after the shock was unbolted. The new shocks must be a little longer as they went right in. Like I said, I wasn't planning on such a quick resolve but it happened that way. It rides very nice now. Seeing I bought it with 155k on it, I really never knew how well they rode until the new suspension parts were in it .

I believe the jack was on the very front of the trailing arm . Might explain why the spring didnt move much. I cant believe how much better it rides and handles. It's so quiet now that I've discovered new squeaks behind me. Rear lift gate had some plastic rivets missing. Any other squeaks gets the stereo treatment.
After a few miles I heard another sound. Slightly different than the previous sound and only when braking So I ordered 2 lower control arms from Summit racing. Moog brand. Drivers side was a piece of cake-crumb cake. Passenger side fought me with the bushing rusted onto the bolt and spun inside the rubber mount. PB Blaster to the rescue and a air powered chisel to help the lube settle in. Sprayed it and put it back together and drove it a week or more. Gave it another attempt with the impact and it came out. So the entire front end has been rebuilt. Except the tie rods ends and they are tight. Nice and quiet and drives very nice. Every time I swap out the winter tires for summer and vise versa, I will grease the sway bar links and check out the whole system.
