Check post #14 - https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/driv...n-39975/page2/

step 9: replace gasket & pan DO NOT over tighten the bolts. Use a 1/4 inch drive handle and just get them tight, (no King Kong fore arms), if you own an inch/lb torque wrench use it to spec 12 N.m or 106 lb. in. That is not much, just past "snug"!

I usually give it the.... UGH! torque. Then go all the way around and pinch down each one a degree or two more. It's in inch pounds whatever the book says. I have 2 on the road now, no issues with either. And reused the factory gasket on both. The one that comes with the filter is a crappy rubber version of the real gasket.

I would just snug them up without breaking any, you should be fine. There is an Ecotec Performance Handbook available for Free online that has all your torque specs.

@ Lucky, how is it I never noticed you're from Seville!

The proper torque specification is 10 Inch Pounds.

He already asked the question in a different thread - and it was promptly answered. This thread is merged with his first.
