Need Advice - Painted PinStripes Care
Need Advice - Painted PinStripes Care
I had my car pinstriped by Jeff Styles @ the recent Toms Farm Meet N Greet this past Saturday 11/7. Does anyone know how long should I wait till it's safe to wash and wax the pinstriped areas? I 've e-mail Jeff but no answer as yet.
Well, there you go!
My painter friend advises that washing with something very mild is not a problem within days of painting, but then, that is acrylic car paint. Go with what the pinstriper advises, as he knows his paint. "Butter Wax", the pure wax that bodyshop suppliers sell, is applied to cars the day after painting in many cases, so it shouldn't hurt if you can get some. However, unless you are just going crazy with worry, I'd wait a month for it all to cure before waxing over it. We need photos of the pinstripes. What were you thinking not giving us photos?
Heh, heh, heh. God Bless, Marc

Will post pix later when I can
u pay power wash places , be carefull when you go..I found personally..stuff jammed in the brush so you will scratch your car..plus they are terrible brushes..use your hand and a rag to wash your stripes for the first little while.mine have seen snow and they still look great..
Daryl! You know to ask me or Tim!
You know I have the more fancy design on my hood, so I know it is scary at first. You can wash it now if you want (remember, I hand-wash my car). I swear by Meguier's as you know (the black detailer is my fav) and I used it on the latest stuff (the dice) the next day.
I use the power wash places once a month (mainly to clean the tires), but NEVER use the brushes!
Tim's purple stuff works great too.
