Very Nice colour!
|
Thanks, 3rd Gen! Now that all the little things are fixed, washer pump, hood lifts, blinkers, rear hatch lifts, it's time to focus on the paint.....
Can any one suggest which brand or spay cans to look into? And Has anyone tried brushing with paint made for pro spay guns? :-) |
I’ve had great service and colour match for both my HHR’s and my wife’s Sunfire, from this company

I contacted ATU yesterday, haven't heard back yet, my paint color wasn't listed, but the sanding and prepping have begun!!!

It’s listed here Merlot Jewel Metallic
79 or WA517Q https://www.automotivetouchup.com/to...09/all-models/ you have to scroll on down |
They change to ALMOST the same color. They change name but it’s the same color. They change the color but it’s the same name. The proliferation of paint options seems so…unnecessary.
2006-2008 Silverstone Metallic (Code 67U) 2009 Silver Ice Metallic (Code 17U) 2010-2011 Silver Ice Metallic (Code GAN) And WTF did they need to switch for “Summit White” to “Arctic White” in 2010? It’s astounding how many different colors of white there are in the world of cars. |
But his HHR is red. And yes it’s confusing and weird, like 1989 Electric Blue and 2003 Arrival Blue same colour, differ paint codes.

Thanks for the link to the full list Old Blue!
Ha! It took me three times scrolling up and down the page to find mine on there! Still have to scrape and sand the fenders and hopefully will hear back from the paint makers by then! Everything takes longer in the Florida sun |
You're going to paint the whole front end, with a rattle can? Brushing? Sorry, this sounds like it's going to have terrible results...
|
Thanks for the vote of confidence RJ, I acknowledge your words and with all due respect, promptly dismiss them. :-)
