Oil filters

Dont know if anybody else took notice but the SuperTech filters at Walmart appears to have a new brand behind it. Was doing my oil shopping today and was looking at the filters and found (compared to the Malaysain AC Delco's,,which looked like crap, bases were crooked and filter median wasnt straight) that they were right good looking...but the beast part is the fact they were redesigned..the top with the small end on it now rotates so when filter is going on or off it will not bind and twist!!Check it out and post your observations...its the ST 9018...compare it to the Delco...no comparrison!

Wal-Mart branded products often change manufacturers without notice.

Always the lowest bidder gets the contract.....yes, their oil too!

I am lazy when it comes to my oil change. I just pay someone to do it. I know its a waste of money and that its easy to do. I just don't have the space to do an oil change.

The main point is for those concerned about when removeing the filter and finding the filter twisted and crushed...the new design eliminates this.....the top half spins with the cap without disturbing the bottom

I've seen this while changing the oil in a friends car. Could not believe how mangled the filter was!

I'm going to WM tomorrow and if they have the new ones I'll get a couple.

If a dealer sees that, they will blame YOU for oil related issues you experience down the road.

If you compare the Super-Tech and the AC-Delco, its sad. The AC-Delco looks like total ASS compared to the Super-Tech, and is significantly more expensive. I always found my AC filter on my SS to be collapsing slightly after 4000 miles with the AC. I only ever used AC filters in my SS, but thought heavily about using the Super-Tech considering how much higher quality it looked.

On my Riviera, I only ever used M1 filters. Find a M1 filter for your car, let me know how much it costs lol.

Disclaimer: Now I KNOW that looks can be deceiving, but the pleats and the spacing and even the resin on the Super-Tech filter all appears to be superior to the AC...
