Watched this and checked the oil I bought recently. Wifes is getting the oil changed today, it's GDI and turbo and the oil is rated at SN Plus (Pennzoil). Guess I'm buying the right stuff, lol.

 

Solman, yes there is lots of info out there about that issue with small displacement turbos.

Cat Man, I'm on gmtnation.com, started off as a GMT 360/370 forum but now includes all GMT platforms. Also buickforums.com for my wife's Encore. 1.4 l turbo and it needs to use Dexos approved full synthetic SN Plus to prevent the pre-detonation issue.
