Preferred Brand of Oil

I was wondering what brand of motor oil most of you use. I have been looking at using Mobil 1. I bought the car used so I don't know what the dealer used in it when they changed it. It is a 2006 2.4L with 73,000 miles. Thanks for the information. :thumb:

As this question has been beaten to death over and over already, give the SEARCH function at the top of the page a try - lots of info out there already, and as there an almost unlimited number of opinions, just go with what you are already focused on.

I got 12:02 am

edit: You can bet the dealer was NOT using Mobil 1 when they did it..

Time for whopper to change his oil again, like he does everytime someone asks an oil question.

Sorry guys, new to the forum thing. I keep forgetting to try the search function. :(

I only use mobile 1, oil/ filter. Lasts 8500 miles, but if I hit the track, before n usually after just to make sure its in the right settings. Expensive but imo worth it. Hope it helps! N no dealerships don't use mobile, they use gm oil.

I've noticed it works better when I put in new oil verses using someone elses old oil....

Oh no! Less than a week as your new Moderator and the "Oil Thing" comes up again....help!;)

As stated above bigboss2010, the "Search" function can be your friend here, but never hesitate to ask questions. Your question may have been answered before, and we can steer you in the direction of an answer.

Some oil discussions have gotten a bit ummm....how shall we say....ahhhh, spirited in the past. So you'll get some answers that might border on sarcasm, or just plain silliness.

Mobil 1 is a fine oil, but in your humble Moderator's opinion, any oil will work just as long as it meets all GM specs and current standards.
