Are you talking about a vinyl sticker? If so a little heat from a hair dryer and rub it off with your fingers, not fingernails!

If your talking about an emblem type you'll have to pull it off with your fingers. A little heat will help but be very careful. Most of the emblem type have thick double sided tape which will allow you to rock the emblem back and forth but don't let it get into the paint! And absolutely DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER to pry it off. I see this all the time, a huge scratch where a nameplate once was.

The glue residue from either can be removed with something like McGuires machine glaze #3. Available at most auto parts houses.

Hope this helps.

Dealer stickers on a new car will usually peel off with no issues. If it does leave residue that won't come off with a cleaner, then I recommend the 3M eraser wheel. Easy and fast. Little was after and it's as good as new.

Whenever I go to a dealer to shop for a car, one thing I check is what kind of dealer ID do they use on their cars. I always tell the salesman as part of any deal there will be NO DEALER IDENTIFICATION on the vehicle or the deal is void. If they use license plate frames or spare tire covers, I tell them I'm going to throw them away as soon as I get the car home. So far it's worked. They get the message.

For plastic emblems held on with double sided tape, you can use fishing line or flossing string.
