Seafoam, Oil change, and Spark plug change today

So I decided to try to seafoam the engine today after work. I watched a youtube video or two, and got the general idea down.

steps are pretty simple
1. while at idle, spray half a can into the intake manifold via the center vacuum line

2. after you get half a can in, shut her down.

3. wait about 10 minutes and fire her up

4. according to the directions, take a 10 or 15 minute "spirited drive"(I guess I can handle that)

5. change oil and plugs...

this is what the plugs look like after seafoam. ok in my opinion, but they did have some carbon deposits(hard to see in picture). They probably were good for a while though. had 55,XXX miles on them...

If you have alot of carbon build it you will. But becareful, if you get too much in there, it can cause cel and limp mode

I had quite a bit when I first started the car after the 10 minute wait. It was pretty white, bad enough I couldn't see my neighbors house across the street.

By the time I got to the end of my block the smoke was mostly non-existant

And B.Diggity I had no CEL or limp mode....so all went well for me...I actually used about 1/3 of the can...

Yup. I do the same to my car every 10k miles, just i use my shops stuff, and use it all, while the car is running. I love the "three part cleaners":p dont forget to clean the throttle plate as well. It can really help as well!:)

The ss is very easy. Right in the intake manifold. Its a rubber hose with a clamp. Use a spare hose thats the same size. Other models not sure if its the same

yellow arrow points to it.....almost dead center on the manifold

and I just want to clarify that i removed the hose and sprayed it into the manifold...NOT into the hose.

i did sea foam on explorer... shoo got cops and fire dept called. i used half can straight into tank and other half right into intake. shut it off, let it sit then fired it up, threw it in neutral and let it rev up.... but yeah ran better after all that!! i should do it to the HHR since it has 210k miles on motor
