spark plug change

Hello All; My first post, proud owner of 08 Black SS 5sp. Question for the forum: how do I remove the factory air box to access spark plugs??

Instructions are provided in the 2008 Owners Manual....page 5-22, I believe. Be careful of the coils, they are somewhat delicate.

If you don't have a manual, one can be viewed on line here.....

Just out of curiousity, why are you changing plugs on a 08 model?? If its what I think, perhaps you should do a search first here and read up on the various topics, opinions and experiences first....it will probably save you some time and money.

Why is it that any time someone mentions changing their spark plugs, they are bombarded with reasons to not do it, or they won't see an improvement, or what not? As I recall, Dex-Cool is supposed to last how long, yet it caused so much problem in the engines of cars in the late 90's.......

Dex caused a problem in a very select few motors. Once the new gaskets were installed, it fixed the issue.

Why change a good expensive iridum plug for something that will not perform any better?

I changed my plugs at around 30,000 and they were horrible looking. Probably from letting it idle before I left from or to work. I normally had to shovel my way out of my garage.
