Got scared since you're in Waukegan... wanted to know where the speed trap was.

Im surprised that with IL plates in WI you did not get tossed in jail for a week. I have noticed that the coppers up north of the border don't seem to have much fondness for us Land of Lincoln drivers.

The cop told me that if I was going 25 over they would've taken my license right then and there

Highly recommend a detector.

"knocking_on_wood" my last ticket was 12 years ago, and I see 2 or 3 CHP every day. Even an expensive detector will pay for itself in short order.

Fwy (hwy) is the worst place to exceed the "flow of traffic" speed, as you stand out to aircraft as well as stationary patrol cars, and will always (eventually) get nailed.

The boy scouts will also tell you quite correctly that the best way to avoid tickets is to drive the speed limit

Im sure this won't be your first in a SS .... You should try looking into the Phazer 2 Radar Jammer. They pay your ticket (if you recieve one, up to one year) but you must read the fine print , wreckless drivng and speeding im sure isn't covered .

LEGAL IN MOST STATES EXCEPT: MN, OK, VA, CA, NE AND DC

can they do that? just seems like something that would be out of their reach and sounds a bit like an idle threat. but i've never gotten a ticket, so i don't know what they really can do.

glad i didn't get one a bit ago, having fun racing a guy in flint, this was years ago, plus when it was 55 through the downtown area on the expressway and i think i was doing 105.

That they do. We use to go camping up in WI when we had our Camper. I swear 5-10 miles over the Border WI State Cops are waiting for anyone with IL plates Speeding.

When I used to live in Il. I got a ticket for 88 in a 55 by a county sherriff and he told me he couldve ticketed for reckless and taken me to jail but instead he dug my car and just gave me the hefty ticket (like 350.00 or so) and also cheeseheads suck and they know it so they cant wait to give some unlucky fib a ticket.

I got my first ticket in 30 years and since it was an out of state ticket I just paid the fine to be done with it. Now I get a notice from my insurance that my rate will go up for the next 3 years! I asked what about the good driver forgiveness that they used to do, in California they passed a law tying rates to records since they did away with rates being based on where you live. One lousy ticket in Nevada and I'll be paying for years.
