Betting close to 6 or 7 inches here. Like I said earlies, no work today! My wife however decide to brave the snow and proceded to get stuck at the end of our street Had to get her out, still take her to work, and then help clean out there. Looks like it stopped now, but here comes the wind. Be careful out there.

Had about 9 inches of snow on the ground by morning...

Breaking out "Big Bertha" the snowblower to dig out of the driveway and try to get to the office...

I just spent two hours shoveling the steps, driveway, and sidewalk.... yikes. It was about a foot deep in some places. I was really happy with the HHR though, to stay on topic because I just brushed it off a little bit, and the snow started melting away. I wonder if it's the Rain-X treatment I gave to it, or just the wax that's on it or something. My roommates car, which I cleared off the same way still has ice on it. Good job HHR.

Yeah, it was quite a treat out there Thursday night. I was driving home to GA from MN and hit Rockford around 7:00 PM. It had been snowing from before Madison, but got much worse the closer I got to IL. By the time I got headed south on I39 there was near white out conditions. Just north of exit 72 the interstate was locked down for about 50 minutes, due to a few truckers mixing it up. From there it just got worse. The drive from Bloomington-Normal to I57 was probably the worse part of the drive. The snow plows hadn't made it to that area by the time I got there, plus the snow was coming from the east. I made it to Marion about midnight and called it quits. Got a motel room and drove the rest of it today.

Got to say, the HHR handled the whole thing quite well. I had a "Billy Big Rig" trucker decide he needed my lane more than I did, so I got to sample the ABS, which is a complete PITA. On the plus side, I really got good mileage going through Illinois, since I could only drive between 30-40 MPH. Even with the conditions, it was better than being in MN, where it was -16 with a 30+ MPH wind on Tuesday night. That remote start feature paid for itself Wed. morning.

Well I made it to work last night and believe me I have never been so scared of driving before like last night. It was the 1st time I ever driven between 2 Semi's on both sides of my HHr in a snow storm and I do not want to ever do that again. This is something that I could not avoid, every one was passing me on the high way I-94 and I am sure glad that I purchased new tires. I drove 60 miles at 25 - 30 MPH and never lost control. I was so happy to make it to work. I would not wish that experience on any one. I hope I never have to go through that again. I will tell you one thing for being such a light vehicle it did pretty Damn good with all the snow and high winds. It must of been because I drove very slow and with 2 hands , I was not in a hurry. Thank God

I started out at 0030 hrs and arrived at work at 0240hrs 2 hrs and 10 min. (what a drive)

Yesterday was horrible. I left for work at 4:30 a.m. as usual and it took me until 7:00 a.m. to get there. The highways were horrible. The streets of Chicago were better than the Stevenson.

I made it home this afternoon, was stuck in Montreal, but my bag is stuck in Chicago. Lots of re-routing on this trip.

Yesterday I ordered new tires to replace the stockers. I was the only one in my cul-de-sac that couldn't make it to work. The car just kept getting stuck in the street, while others made it out. I am done with those crappy tires! Glad to hear most all of you made it through that mess alright.

I am glad that I purchased the Long life tire with 80,00 warranty and a much harder rubber and better tread wear for the winter.
