Spring Run 2007
Ok, I decided to go ahead and start a new thread. Sorry about taking up so much room over in the "Big Run '07" thread!
Like I posted over there...Spring Run just may be in the QC! All plans are tentative until proven final!!! I am waiting for responses back about 2007 schedules from a couple of places and really can't finalize anything until I get those.
We are kinda looking at April 21-22, it's after Easter and AFTER TAXES!!!!!
Saturday we could start out at our Chevy dealers lot in Milan, IL-hoping to get them to provide coffee, donuts, etc. I'd let them know how much room we would need. They open at 8:30 a.m.
Do the run from Milan out to Cordova, IL (about 32 miles) to the Cordova Dragway Park. According to this year's schedule, they open at 11, racing is from noon to 5. They had a "Spring Warm Up and Swap Meet" that included a "Test-n-Tune" that someone requested this year on the same weekend we are looking at. I don't have any prices for admission, but will work on that.
A run back to Moline, IL along the Mississippi River and there is a dinner/dance cruise on the Celebration Belle from 6:30-9 p.m. Cost on that on this year's info is $37.45 each and that price includes taxes and gratuity. It's a non-gaming boat but the only one that does go out and cruise the river.
We do have 3 other casino boats. One in Rock Island, IL and 2 across the river in Iowa, one in Davenport and the other in Bettendorf.
There is alot of loding. If anyone would be interested I could see about special pricing and blocking of rooms. The biggest cluster is out by the Quad-City International Airport (which is located pretty close to the Chevy dealer).
Breakfast on Sunday morning. We could do a small run to downtown Moline to the John Deere Commons. It icludes a John Deere Collectors Center, a John Deere store and the John Deere Pavillion. Across the street from that is The Mark, the Quad-Cities arena. And nearby, is the Isabel Bloom store, where the Quad-Cities original sculpture is sold.
I can post websites for all of the above that I have mentioned. We're pretty excited about maybe having this opportuinity to share our little community with other HHR'ers out there.
Any and all feedback and ideas are welcomed and appreciated!
Love to all!

Way to go 1955
Sounds real good. I'll wait and see how many want to go before I commit the Z-Man, but I do like the Idea. This sounds like something I will enjoy doing.

Well, if the dates work, we'll be there. Been to the John Deere thing downtown and it is really neat. My wife's son lives in Blue Grass and we get up there quite a bit, so I know the area pretty well. Besides, she used to live there for a while years ago. Lots to do and the Scott County parks are great for camping. Need to get some Whiteys Ice Cream!!!

Another thing to consider is the other side of the Mississippi River..............The Iowa side
There are alot of things to do in Davenport and Bettendorf as well. I am originally from Davenport and still have family there, which means............I will be there.
