Thought that you were coming to the SE region meet?

 

 

Any other time would be better than that mid August weekend for me (Angie's birthday).


We may want to stick with a simple meet and greet instead of going with the expense of a park shelter.

With such a new group and not so big yet, we might be best on keeping it a free gathering.

Maybe we could try a park that has lot of picnic tables and simply park and take over a few of the tables (usually not requiring a reservation or fee). Or bring folding chairs and picnic off the tailgates. Most are gathered to talk about thier cars, share some customizing and mod ideas, kids can play on the playground equipment and we can even bring along some portable games (washers or horseshoes).

Or try what another car club I belong to does and just pick a resturant or fastfood location to gather at in the parking lot and dine inside for those interested. We just pick a random fastfood location every month or so in various locations around the area (that way other new HHR owners in different parts of town will see us parked together and stop in to see what's going on and ask about our club so we can gain new members from around other parts of town).

We could even pick a location with indoor activities or group tours. Leave all the work to the staff that run the facilities (The Mills Shopping Center NASCAR Park, Fastlane Classic Cars Showrooms, Museum of Transportation, Busch Brewery Tours, Route 66 State Park and Museum, St. Charles Riverfront Boathouse Lewis & Clark Museum.. etc.)

 

August 13th sounds good to me! Big Kahuna has some good ideas. Unfortunatly I'm not familiar with the parks around St. Louis, so I may not be much help there, but I'll help out any way I can. Just let me know .

 

Is 10/13 a date that we want to try going solid with? If so, I'll get my vacation request put in at work so that I have a few days off surrounding that weekend and I can make the drive out.
