Transplanting to Ohio!!!

I see some fellow members are from Ohio. My wife and I have found a school in Cincinnati that has a program for my daughter, who is battling Childhood Apraxia of Speech We will be relocating to the area November 1st. We basically know nothing about Cincinnati area, except for what it looks like from an airplane. Hell we landed in Kentucky... Anyway, any info about the area would be much appreciated. Did read they have a great Octoberfest though.
See Ya in a few weeks.

Welcome to Ohio!

You're pretty lucky - down there you will probably not experience as much snowfall as we Northerners do...

I am from SE Indiana. Lots of things to do and places to see in this area. We get Cincy and Indy stations here. We are about 30 mins from Cincy and 45 to Indy. What things are you wanting to know about?

We will be living in West Chester to start (Lakota school district). The Cincinnati Childrens Hospital has an Apraxia program and specialists.

not to sound like a dumb ass, but what is the speech apraxia? I have never heard of it before. I was just curious. Well I hope the school helps her out.

No dumb ass about it. If we weren't dealing with it, I would have never known about it. Basically she knows what she wants to say but can't. receptively she is right there with most other 4.5 yr olds . Not my word but here goes...
"Apraxia is a neurologically base breakdown of the organization or sequencing of movement that can involve language, perception and thought."
