AZ is hot rod friendly. only fender laws apply to back wheels and also only apply to trucks, SUV, etc. hhr is compact so none apply. that fender bit on the front of the doors works as a rock guard, not required but I don't want to huck rocks at people. not very aerodynamic though.
no side mirrors needed but you do need a rear view.
I though I would have cop troubles but so far so good. Get a lot of "is it safe" comments, just have to remind folks that pretty doesn't = safety.

"shaved" tailgate is metal of off a microwave hammered flat and pop riveted on. push button under licence plate to open. bumper cover trimmed.
