Converting reverse lights to turn signals?
I want to use the reverse lights for orange turn signals
even just stuffing some led's inside for turn signal instead of using the shared brake light
how hard would this be?

Since the OP is in California, I'll bet there is a law or 2 against doing that. Best to check the state ordinances. Usually something like " The factory installed lighting configuration must not be altered or changed" yada, yada, yada.

There shouldn't be much of a problem if you re-route some wires and mount a euro style floodlight on the bumper.
However, remember that the lights are controlled and monitored by the BCM and it may have different ideas than you.
If it is legal to have a) red and amber brakelights b) change the factory design c) choose the correct lumens. Check with whatever agency controls safety inspection, in my state it is the State Police.

In California, you could see jail time for something as simple as this. If only they paid as much attention to things that actually matter. They won't, though.
OP needs to leave CA, and then do what normal people would think is fun, interesting, clever... Those ideas are dead in a place like that.
