Grill emblem came apart the other day, plastic center came out and I have it. Looks like the plastic is yellow from age, and it is painted silver on the back side, maybe it is to make it look gold (??) I noticed someone used carbon fiber vinyl in the center and it looks nice. i have some but I am wondering if it is put in place of the plastic, or wrapped the plastic and glued back on. Any Ideas??

I painted mine to match the body. Vinyl wrap etc would be great.

 

I did my emblem with silver vinyl overlay, but that was about 11 years ago .... Still holding up well tho..

 

Is that vinyl on the headlights too?

 

Yes 3M hi-gloss vinyl, & it is holding up well also.

 

They all do that. GM shame. I painted my first one with plain ol’ black satin Krylon. The next one went on front so it got wheel paint, much tougher. Prime with whatever you have lying around that will stick to plastic.
