If you did not get fog lights on your HHR, you can add them by a manual on off switch AFAIK.

Yes, several ways to do it. Install factory light and wiring, get BCM programmed. Yes you will need a switch.

Factory lights and aftermarked wiring (what I did). Yes, you also need a switch.

Aftermarket lights and aftermarket wiring. You can end this however you like.

easiest way IMO is to buy the fogs, buy some wire and plugs that fit the bulbs, use a relay off your parking lights and an inline fuse...can be done in about an hour. Also never need to worry about pushing a button or switching them on and off. I love my setup.

if you have an LS, than the BCM cannot be progammed..if you have an LT then you probably will be able to..
I have an LS and i bought a fog light kit that came with wiring off ebay for about $120...then i bought a centre bezel from an LT that came with the fog light button and put in a relay behind the dash and wired up to the fog light button the bezel so fog light = on and traction control button = off :)

That will not work in all states. In Va the fogs have to go off when the high beams are on. You could use this system if you tied it into the low beams. I have done this on several cars over the years. I used a solanoid starter relay (cheap) and ran from the battery to the relay from the relay to the lights. For control side I tapped into the low beam to a dash switch to the control side of the relay.. If I rember correctly the other side went to ground.
