HHR mud gurard install?
Hello,
Just got a new 07 HHR last night and would like to know if anyone has installed mud guards themselves. Can it be done without drilling into the body? Is it easy? Which ones are best? Anything else I should know? Thanks, Greg |

Attachment 40834 to the site!!! Don't know. I had mine installed along with my running boards.

The dealer did mine. I think there was no drilling on the front.....or was it the back?
|
I installed the molded HHR mud guards myself. The instructions indicate to drill holes to install the back ones (and possibly the front ones as well). I didn't drill holes to install them.
There are enough screws to hold them securely in place without needing to do any drilling. |
I installed the factory molded flaps and only had to drill one hole for each flap no the bottom facing up. And it was plastic to drill into. Probably not totally necessary but helped make the flap more secure.

No drilling required BUT be sure to save the plugs you remove from the wheelwell. They will be used in the installation. At the very base of the HHR flap is a hole for a screw into the bottom of the body. Use a good phillips screwdriver and you shouldnt have a problem. The screws are self tapping.

Both, Zeebo and Critter Had installed the rear flaps on Dory in less than 10 min. New hole and all. |
I did not do the lower hole in mine. They are still firm, do not move at all. Wanted to try that before adding a hole. Glad I did, it was not needed.

Which mud guards did you all purchase to install on your HHR's. Where are the holes. Are they under those little plugs in the wheel well? Could anyone post some pics of the finished product?
Thanks Dennis Dennis |
