HID attempt #2

After my attempt using DDM tuning kits and having only one of them work I ordered a set for my headlights from retro-solutions.com.

Wow, what a difference. The quality of the kit is night and day. Their service is top notch in every way possible. The kit installed great, functions perfectly and is absolutely stunning.

I do have the DDM kit in my fogs, working good. Retro-solutions kit for hi/low headlight. The overall output of both is fantastic. Both are 35w kits. 3500k fogs and 5000k headlights.

If anyone is going to do HID kits, go with retro-solutions, you will not regret it. The ballasts are almost half the size, ignition voltage is way lower, warm up time is shorter. Best part, they will answer their phone and talk to you!!

I'll post some photos later.

$160 for head and fog lights?

belzersdetail 12-29-2011 09:10 AM

The fog light kit from DDM was $40. The headlight kit from retro was $160. The fog lights I have noticed have an issue with hot ignition. If they have been shut off within 5 or 10 minutes they don't always ignite. I have to cycle them. If they are cold they are fine.
