HID install

hey everyone, getting ready to install a hid kit, i was wondering how hard it is to get the inner fender well lining out, my car is so low and with 18 inch solstice wheels on it, it makes it a challenge to get your hands up in there, plus i want to do a clean job on it. the car sits alot so i have some time to do this.

Do yourself a favour, jack it up and remove the wheel. Your back will appreciate it and may actually save you time. You may have to take more off depending on how you mount the ballasts and run wires.

Ive been wanting to do this as well but i was under the impression that these lights are almost blinding since there really meant to be in a projector style lense.

Let me know how yours turn out!

If you don't have access to a lift (Ideal way) then a decent low profile hydraulic jack and 4 Good jack stands are your best option.

My old 3 ton hydraulic jack that I have had the last 25-30 years wasn't Low enough after I lowered Morticia.

I bought a decent low profile aluminum "racing jack" at HF. I bought the 2 Ton one. I waited until it was on Sale.

They have it in 3 versions I believe. 1, 1.5 and 2 ton, you'd have to check.

Gets under my Panel with Goldlines on all 4's.

As with ANY Jack, Get and USE the Jack Stands! Work SAFE !

I jack mine up and secure it with 4 jack stands as high as I can get it and take all 4 wheels off. Allows me to get into the wheel well areas and get under her to clean and wipe things down.
And give everything a good visual inspection.

Cool, it's not a bad Jack at all. I waited for the 2 Ton to go on sale last year, they run sales all the time on them. I see the same ones with different "Brand" Stickers on them at several retailers.

Once I lowered my Panel, it was a Must have item. I could SHOVE my old jack under but not get it Properly in place easy.

The Box it came in now houses Supercharger Project Parts.

I just checked, and see they now have it in a 3 Ton. (Not sure if they had the 3 ton one last year)

As I said, be SURE to use jack stands under the car, not just placing them under it, but Lower the car onto them gently, and make sure nothing shifts. Then if your working near the front, place the jack under the car and raise it up in place not lifting the car, just in place as a secondary safety measure. If you go to the back, move the Jack to the back as well.

Better to be cautious and SAFE, then Dead under your car.

Oh and Thanks. I keep muddeling along on it doing stuff here and there.

Yours is looking pretty Kick Ass dude. I Like the Dipped parts youve been doing.
