So to further clarify....Does the Cruise Control not disengage when the brakes are used? That would seem to be the issue as that is the only time those lights are used. I will admit that I am just guessing.

When the third light illuminates the CC turns off. The CC will not turn on if the third brake light didn't work when you put it into gear. On a standard trans car you need to use the brake sometime before you turn the CC on.

O K Thanx. By the way, who's idea was this? I thought engineers were supposed to be smart. Or are they smarter than they let on? A conspiracy? HMMMMM!

If they were smart, they wouldn't have designed the HHR so you have to remove shrouds and do a blind feel, just to change the head lamps!
