A little mod I did Wednesday

So I wanted to try this out, and see how it looked (yellow film on headlights). I like it, unfortunately I messed it up and had to redo it and ran out of film for the other side. So I plan to order some more, and better quality this time too. Thoughts?

Interesting look.

Around here, that would probably get you pulled over by law enforcement. And most likely a ticket for altered or improperly colored headlamps.

It will in Texas too, its only about 10$/roll so if I have to tear it off it wont be so bad.

How about heat build up causing catastrophic failures of either the bulb or the lens?

Kind of gives a Batman effect to your ride.

Hmmm...while the legality of the lighting mod is borderline, you've managed to give your HHR a French flair by going to their old "Selective Yellow" lighting.

Selective Yellow lights had some distinct advantages in fog and rain, and they were less likely to dazzle oncoming drivers.

Here's a '67 Vette retrofitted with Selective Yellow Cibié lights for use on French roads.

There is a set of heat transfer equations that govern heat transfer through layers of glass/plastic/film, but without going through that...the heat transfer should be fine. I did leave it on until dark as well and it putout just as much light as the opposite side did.
