I painted my 2008 hhr satin black and I really like it. Now there is finally a product out to help maintain the paint. I say if u like it, do it. I really like black. Satin finish is nice. I don't remember how to post a pic. But my hhr was posted on here a while back.

Stick with the classics. Flame, scallops, 2 tone. It is a retro body design, so the classics should fit well.

I have no real opinion on matte paint. But there are a few things to think about.

The worst thing about matte finishes is that any kind of prolonged rubbing will level the matte and make it shiny. Every time you wash it, you'll be giving it just a little more polish. Also, you can never match it if you get body damage from an accident, any repair will require you to respray a large part if not all of the car. Forget spot fixing scratches too.

I have a riding buddy with one of the black denim (kind of a matte/satin black) H-D Streetbobs. His tank has two shiny spots on the sides where his pant legs rub while he's riding. He's kind of over all the extra care that he has to take just to keep the finish looking "OK".

I actually took the 20's off now and went back to oem steel wheels with the stainless steel racing discs.
