Mild customizing , phantom GMC JJR (Jimmy Junior)

I have this idea about making my HHR look like GMC version if they ever would have done one. Grilles are easy to find in aftermarket but my problem/question is, is there a corresponding part for the tail gate handle that was used on a GMC that will fit, or a handle that has no name on it whatsover. I could remove the Chevy badge but that would still leave a part looking like something is missing. Any ideas?

The owner of the 60-66 GMC trucks fansite turned his '08 HHR into a "GMC".

You might get some ideas here....

Those that shaved the rear bowtie carefully cut it out and fill in the hole.
you might find a gmc badge with the same width to patch in there, good luck.

Would be like trying to make a GMC Camaro or Z28. Not really seeing the point.

Why not? 'Badge engineering' was pretty common for GM as well a the other manufacturers at one time. There were GMC versions of the Suburban, the trucks, the El Camino, etc. And though not GMC there were Camaros and Firebirds, and at one time four different versions of the Nova body; a Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Buick. (Nova, Omega, Ventura, and Apollo). Note that those initials also spell N-O-V-A......

I see nothing wrong with the Idea of a badge engineered HHR.
