Rear light mod

So first, yes I did try the search feature. I also looked at each post under the 'Mods-Exterior" that mentions lights or tail lights or rear lights and couldnt find what I was looking for. I saw a post, and I am almost sure it was on this page. Someone modded their rear lights using back up light lenses and red led bulbs in the top tail light holes. I think they referred to it as 'European style'. If someone knows what I am talking about please point me in the right direction. Thank you!!!!

The way HHRs are adapted for European laws is the sub a amber bulb in the back up plug and rewire it to be turn signals, then add a spotlight under the bumper.

The top lens and the bottom lens are not interchangeable.

Somebody tried to use a 2 color LED, but the wiring couldn't be done right.

You can add a 2nd top light to the lowers, just requires re-sizing the lower body hole to accept the upper light fixture. But then you have to add reverse lights, elsewhere.

Does this mean that there are already the necessary wires in the HHR body?
In any case, it would be great to see the details.

No, you have to move wires.

No, as Don pointed out, you would have to connect the lower lights into the upper light wires. Splice them in..
Then like Blues link to so many of them is pick which style you want to go for..

As I too am doing the 4 light conversion I would like others opinion,
Do I
1 - connect both tail light & brake light/turn signal
2 - connect just the tail light
3 - connect just the brake light/turn signal

I would do # 3, so you have extra lights (Like 3rd brake light) when you brake or turn..
