removing roof rails
 

I found a boneyard candidate with a pair roof rails.
What do I need to know to remove the rails?
I'll be using the mounting points to make a template & record measurements to make my car ready to install them, but it would help to have some experienced to let me know the particulars of getting the factory accessory rails off without marring the chrome and such.

Remove screws.

So are there rivnuts inset into the roof?

That is how it attaches. You will need a rivnut tool and rivnuts to install.
