Vent Visors - Which Ones?
 

I am going to install vent visors on the HHR. What are the pros and cons of the in-channel type vs the standard stick on type?

In the orange bar at the top of the screen to the right side type in Vent Visors in the Search Function and you will bring up a multitude of threads on the subject. Weathertech InChannels are the best imo.

I just put mine on last week. Ihave had vent visors on everything i've owned for years, and alway's bought Vent Visor brand or weathertech. This time with money tight and all, I found a generic set on E-bay for $22 dollars shipped. they are in channel and the strongest set i have ever seen, very nice. Hope this helps.

I have AVS (Lund*) brand in-channel vent visors. Lifetime warranty..

Pros: In-channel looks much cleaner, imo..

Cons: "0" TIKO ..

In town driving = In channel

Country road driving or live in the country = Stick on, sand and the dust wreak havoc on the windows.

Just my opinion beings I live on a sand and gravel road.

I went with in channel. But I have a Panel so no rear windows.

I like the clean look they have, a tucked in close look like they were factory made for it.

Been using Auto Vent Shades for 30 years. I've used and own both in channel and stick on. In channel looks good on most apps, but exhibit more wind noise on the highway (you disturb the seals). Stick on are more obtrusive on certain color cars (i.e. smoke shades on a white car), but are much quieter on the highway.

I have in channel on my Silverado, because it's red and makes alot of wind noise anyway, and I liked the look on that truck. I don't use it on long trips, so it rarely sees the highway. I have stick on for my HHR, because it's black and I didn't like the "chopped off" look of the rear door window shade if I went for in channel.

For stick on, don't think that they will fall off, because they won't. My S10 pickup has the stick on and have been in place for 11 years. The in channel mounting is secure.

With that said, weigh your options; how you intend to drive the car (primarily city or highway), what color is the car and if the type of shade will merge with the body lines. Both have pros and cons.
