Wagon to sedan delivery

to convert my 4dr HHR to a sedan delivery (2 dr) - I'm wondering what would be easier:
1) buy rear door bits and non-glass metal window panels from a 2dr HHR from the junk yard and plug them in
2) shave the handles off of my existing doors and just paint (or form alloy inserts for) the rear windows.

I can easily take care of the interior mods - just wondering if anyone's done this before.

Please don't suggest the obvious (sell the wagon and buy a sedan delivery) 'cause I won't pay attention to well reasoned logic like that.

Cheers
Steve

Buy panel doors. No window. No handle. Job done (except matching paint).

One of our members did it to an SS. I think he wants to sell it. :thumb:

Here is a thread from a member that made a wagon into a 1/2 panel.

Even if ya purchase panel (rear) doors, you still have to close in the back side windows.

So if you need to close 2, why not just do 4, & shave handles..

I am pretty sure that the rear quarter panel is one piece on the 1/2 panel, not an insert. However, the windows can be easily replaced with panels you fabricate. The interior panels are different, I think.

what ever you chose to do, post some pics of the project!

HHR Panel interior side panels differ by having the window areas blocked off..

Thanks - as for the metal inserts for the rear windows - that's what I was thinking of doing. For the interior I'm thinking a nice wood "bed" - maybe paneling on the sides -
Right now just "imagineering" as it's supposed to be -1F tonight - there's no way in heck I'm doing any work outside that doesn't NEED to be done!
When the project starts I'll post pics.

Cheers

Steve
