Yay or Ney for the new look?

Hey Forum,

In the past I was attempting to come up with new ideas for these wheels. I let it go for a few months but now I'm back at it. I love the looks of the Smoothie wheels and they would go great with my Classic Chevrolet scripts but due to being a college student, I'd rather not spend that kind of money. I have the 5 star Steelies so the smoothie hubcaps wouldn't fit either.

Normally I dont like black rims, especially on Silver but I threw these hubcaps on there to see how they would look and I actually like them. It brings out the chrome accents I have due to the hubcap chrome base and bolts. The black just matches the Roof rails and windows.

Sorry the photos arent too good, just took some quick shots at a field but what are your guys' opinions? Also, should I revert my front white modifications to Black or keep it white? (front/back Bowties, fog light covers, front Vanity mount etc). Be Honest! I wont get offended Last photo is same hub in grey.

I think they look good. Looks good with the chrome script, and I don't think the white accents look bad, either. TBH for some reason the chrome door handles and the chrome accent on the window of the rear door look out of place, though. A black window accent might look better. Not sure about the door handles, maybe body color.

Looks good, that's hot rodding , change stuff as you can either afford what you want or find used at a price that's to good to pass up!

Hey RJ RS SS 350,

Thanks for the reply. I am leaning towards keeping the white Accents as well because too much black may be overwhelming. Let me look into removing my chrome window trim as you may be right.

You could mask and spray the window trim with black PlastiDip, be cheap, easy, and temporary if you didn't like the result.

It's actually just chrome wrap on the window Pillar so I can just pull it off. Applying black plastidip/paint is a good idea as it will help make it darker since window trim tends to fade after showing its age in the sun and heat.

Thanks Mike :) I'm glad you like the difference. Im trying to have it appear more custom as nearly all the HHr's in my area are stock with nothing done to them. I occasionally see 1 sunburst orange with smoothie rims and tinted windows as well as a red SS at the bowling alley.
