Auto shifter replacement

This may sound a little crazy to you guy but have any of you replaced your automatic shifter assembly with something like a quarter stick or a b&m? If so what works?
thanks in advance

Welcome to the site, I’ve only seen one member change out to that kind of shifter , and he stuffed an LS V8 under the hood.
Tye factory shifter has lock outs and sensor switches in it, so I don’t think a B&M shifter would be compatible

Agree with Oldblue, I owned an 08 HHR SS(auto) for 11 years and never seen any aftermarket shifters for the automatic. As he said, lockouts and sensors will probably leave it inoperable. Maybe somewhere or somehow someone could rebuild the shifter into a new design but I doubt it. Seems like an awful lot of work.

With decent machine skills you could make the factory shifter "look like" something different/aftermarket/"racing" shifter/ etc... all the electronics would stay as is, but it could look more "race oriented"

But yeah, you aren't going to find an existing unit that works.

Some have customized the OEM shifter but just that above the console.

Thanks for the quick responses! I was thinking it would look cool to have a long ape hanger in there. Maybe I'll just extend the one that's in there

Does anyone know if the Black/Chrome Cobalt Shifter (AT) works for the HHR?
I'm not trying to make radical changes to the car, but since I have to change out the shifter anyway, this one seems to go very well with the interior.
