back-up camera monitor
I have a back-up camera/monitor system that I would like to install but the monitor is about 7 1/2 x 5 1/2 and I am not sure where I can fit it... any suggestions?
Have the stock radio and not sure want to replace it |
That’s a pretty large monitor, is it just for the rear view camera?

Some of the SS versions had a performance display that mounted in the storage bin on top of the dash... I would probably try fabricating something like that.

Like this , only on top of the cubby box door. |
Or, just empty the junk out of the cubby and wedge it between the lid and the base. Or, mount it to the underside of the lid and pop the lid open when needed.

That is what I had sitting on the shelf, has the backup camera with it and has 2 inputs to the monitor so I guess it could be used like a drive-in movie. hate to take away any view out the windshield.

I seem to be a frequent target for the law enforcement community, I also get off work late which is a prime time for inebriated drivers on the route I have to take driving home. Don't need any excuses for them to pull me over.

As long as it is hooked up correctly it will be off while driving making it legal. It is illegal to be turned on while driving, it counts as an entertainment device/distraction while a GPS is legal to have mounted on the dash. I had a laptop mounted on my passenger side that a cop discussed the legality of while writing a speeding ticket.

true, Good point. it would be distracting to have it on while driving. I was thinking of putting it on a pivot so I could lower it when I wasn't using it.
