Digital speedo

I know this is probably a dumb question but oh well. I'm a pretty big guy so I'm already a little crowded in my car and being left handed doesn't help. My point is I always drive with my left hand and in doing so my arm always seems to block the speedo. I like watching my speed on my gps but if it gets left on and I don't crank the car for two days or so my battery goes dead. Does anyone know if a good digital gauge I can put on my dash that I can hook up to go off when the car turns off?

You could wire in an auxiliary power receptacle and connect it to a switched power source. Then when you plug your GPS into it, the power will be cut to it when the key is off.

I like the gauge in the GPS but when it goes off it takes forever to turn back on.

I use my cell phone or tablet. I have an obd abapter and use the torque pro app. It displays your speed. Its dead accurate too.

My in dash gps does that, but for a lot less money you can get a aeroforce, which will read your speed, and go off and on automatically.:twothumbs:

This is a cobalt gauge pod, I think you can still find one.

I wired another power outlet using this spot on the inside fuse panel. It's an igition circuit and will kill power once you open the door. Same as the radio. I just hid the socket behind the dash.

I have a Escort Passport 9500ix that has GPS and has an option to display the speed there in the middle of my windshield. I rarely ever even look at the actual speedo anymore.
