Looking for lighting ideas.

I've been replacing all my interior lights with LEDs for more brightness, but one area I can't get enough light to is the cargo area. Has anyone found a lighting mod that will light that area up? I've thought about maybe trying to find junk light housings and seeing if I can find a place to mount them. I've also see where users have flipped their dome lights 180 degrees, but I don't think that will solve the problem. Any ideas?

Don't know what year you have, but my 2010 has 2 rear dome lights. Plenty of light for me.

Probably should have mentioned that. I have an 07 Ls. Just the single dome light with 2 push lights that point over the backseats and the other light points to the cargo area. I'm looking to put lights in the actual cargo area.

A couple of LED lights on either side mounted into the side panels might do the trick!

That's what I'm thinking. Is there a way to wire it up for the lights to come on when the doors open? Would I have to tap into the dome lights?

Tap the dome lights or run a switch at the tail gate

I think I'm going to try to find some type of small light housing and put them in the plastic paneling on both sides of the boot. I'll just wire up a switch, because I don't know how to tap into the dome lights and I don't really feel like ripping up the headliner, which is probably what would happen.

I used 12v 'fairy lights' that I found on e-bay. I just tucked them between side panels and the headliner, in several places to keep them in place. They plug into a 12v outlet, then I connected a 12v led dimmer, again from e-bay,. The dimmer is located between the doors on the passenger side. I can light the entire rear compartment, back seats and cargo area, from a faint glow to bright enough to read by. Cost about $10.
