New/Modded Overhead Console

New/Modded Overhead Console
I bought my HHR SS earlier this year. There are a couple of things I wanted to change after living with it for a bit. The first was a different stereo head unit. The factory one isn't bad, but I really wanted the connectivity of newer models. I also wanted to retain the "stock" features as much as possible (On-Star, XM, etc.).
I also didn't like the lack of a really bright front dome light. With the sunroof though, my options were limited for an overhead console.
Some have used the S10/Blazer/Jimmy overhead consoles. I had already looked at this and bought one, looking it over for possible mods. One of the items I needed to add was the Axxess XIA-LCD unit in order to keep the XM radio with their GMOS100 interface module.
Here's a pic of the modded unit after being painted, but before the components are back in. What was done was to graft the XIA-LCD unit case into the DIC area, graft the HHR sunroof switches to the rear of the unit, and replace the single Blazer sunroof switch with the On Star mic unit from the HHR.
I'll post the before (construction) and after (installed) pics in a bit.
