overhead LED

OK I searched under lights and overhead and LED and all combinations I think. Can someone tell me what the purpose of the violet coleored LED in the overhead by the mirror is for. Its on at night only when the key is on

It lights your window buttons...

Some call it the "Light from above."

X2. If you notice, the window switches are not illuminated. The light is also good for showing whats in the little pocket under the window switches

I don't like mine-- blocked it with a small rubber plug long ago.

I've wondered how hard it will be to replace when it burns out (yes, I am the type of person that would want it fixed...it would bother me )

It's a mini spot light for the console area. I dont typically like lots of night lights but this one is OK (for now). May plug it off later. Stuff a pencil eraser up in there?
