Seat replacement

This is one of my current projects I'm working on while off for the week. I normally get ink on my Bday, but the artist who is drawing my next piece is Buh-sheetin. Pics to follow

The issues I have with the stock seats are; A. Height ( affecting headroom, leg fatigue, and sight line ), 2. Rear travel ( legroom ), III. Poor lumbar support, and D. Lateral support. I ordered 2 Corbeau LG1 seats with adjustable lumbar support. Since no one makes a bracket for our cars, I have to fab some of my own. I have a good working mount for the front, but because I no longer have a garage to work in, I need to wait on the weather. These are for testing purposes, and once I'm happy with a seating position, I'll try and make things look pretty. As a side note, Corbeau has only had one inquiry about HHR brackets, and that was mine.

New brackets are done, working on the seat belts now. 3 drill bits shot, I really need a drill press.

Finally done

I swapped out the angle iron for some 1/4, and 3/16" plate. Once I've driven it for a bit and am happy with it, I'll weld it up.

I left room for horizontal adjustments

here is the seatbelt bracket. I think the grade 8 hardware should keep me safe until I weld it.

Here is just about everything mounted to the seat

They look awsome brother , Nice work .
I'm not a big fan of the stock SS seats . I need to find a totaled cobalt SS and grab the recaros out of it, and make them work in the HHR SS :D

Love it!

I actually really find the seats comfortable. Just too high! Messes with the sight line.
Can't find anyone to make new brackets or find a way to lower the seat.

Yeah baby! :one:

Glad to see someone's got some "attachments" and finally did this! :thumb:

That's a winner, How much lower do you sit on these ? Looks like a BIG drop.

I wouldn't mind sitting lower myself... plus either a deep dish steering wheel w/buttons, or telescopic wheel

Side note: Don't the SS seats have adjustable Lumbar support ?

If they do, whatcha gonna do with them ???? (as interest grows in my mind)...
