Should there be a plug in the hatch panel?

Don't know how best to phrase the question, so I figured a pic would help. Is there supposed to be a plug in this hole? If so, anyone have one in the right color that they want to part with?

Thanks,
Brent

What does that mean in American? If you need to use the emergency latch you do not want the plug there. Maybe it's me with too many Miller High Lifes,:corny:

If you have to climb through the back to get out, you legs are probably pinned. Its a bad day if you gotta climb out that way

The part numbers for that are 22736242(Cashmere), and 22736243(Gray), list price from GM is $22.21ea.

Try GM Parts Giant, or GM Parts Direct as they beat GM list prices all the time.

Thanks for the part number. At $26-27 shipped, I think I'll live without it for now.

Yeah, for what you get, I'd live with the hole for now. You might find it in a salvage yard.

It's not likely for that scenario. The reason I think it's there, is because some idiot at GM decided that the rear door should be electrically operated, with no manual operation for the lock or latch. Then another idiot thought it was a good idea to put the battery behind that electric door. So a genius said, "we might need to give them a way to open it when the battery dies."
