W N Y - next event?
 

Based on conversations at last week's G2G in Batavia, it sounds like June is the preferred month for the next WNY HHR Club event since several folks are planning to attend the Gettysburg G2G in May. Here are some quick ideas I'll throw out there for consideration:

1. Niagara Falls, NY - meet at outlet mall in AM, cruise to Niagara Falls State Park and picnic on Goat Island - possible dates: 6/14, 6/21, or 6/28?

2. Batavia, NY - meet at the Center Street SmokeHouse like the last two times, only maybe in June the weather will be warm enough to take over their outdoor porch - possible dates: 6/14, 6/21, 6/28?
or
6/28 "Rotary Rods & Rock 'n Roll" car show at Batavia Downs Racetrack - starts late (1PM) awards at 7PM. Features pizza, beer, gaming at the track etc etc. $10 registration (charity fundraiser by local Rotary Club)

3. Forestville, NY (east of Dunkirk) - 6/14 - Strawberry Festival Cruise-In at Merritt Estates Winery 1-5PM - free admission - free bottle of wine to all "pre-1978 cruisers" (I assume that means the car not the driver! :D )

4. Buffalo, NY - 6/21 - Buffalo River Fest Car Show - located on Ohio Street in South Buffalo - starts late (2PM), goes late (8PM).

Those are just a couple varied suggestions. I'm sure others know of different events that may appeal to the group. Comments? Suggestions?

I'm up for the following, but I can't do anything on June 28th, since me and Stacey will be on the road in South Dakota heading for Colorado that day.

The only other thing I might suggest is a mid-week G2G at one of the Shredd & Ragan Cruise Nights up in the Falls (Wednesday nights), but that depends on if folks are up to run to Summit Place mid-week and how I can manage work schedules ... if I can get scheduled NOT to close some Wednesday night (yeah, like that'll happen. :barf:).

OK. Let's look at the 14th or 21st. I also like the idea of a mid-week cruise night (or two) but that might limit some of the people who would have to travel a greater distance. There's no reason why some of us can't do some local cruise's as well as a weekend gathering of the whole bunch though.

We're in.

Any preferences as to date and place, Dave?

Just informed Ontario Where Are You (thread). Hopefully some response, would be great if we could recruit some more HHR's and ideas.

I'm in for the Niagara Falls GTG, I might be able to bring over a few more canadians :thumb:

I'm in for the next G2G. Don't have a real preference for one site over another, but since the last 2 have been at Batavia it would be nice to have a new place this time.

Just thought I'd let all know that I have been to the cruise at Summit Park Mall in the past and will not go back.
A lot of young kids with there cars doing burn out's. Also a lot of little kids with hands all over the cars, and being pushed around by Mommy in a stroller. Last time I watched as the buggy went down the side of a real nice Camaro. I was just to far to do anything about it.

Just found out tonight that a Quaker Steak & Lube is comming to Buffalo. I'll try to find out an opening date ??

At the G2G I passed around a small book of all the local car shows & cruises for the Buffalo area. I know there is a list for the Rochester area as well, I'll see what I can do to get my hands on a copy ???:nuts: :nuts:

Just had a thought, how about meeting up with the Pitsburg PA HHR gang in Erie, I know the Quaker Steak & Lube has a big back parking lot.
Those coming from Elmira area can come across RT 86. Buffalo gang can either cruise RT 90 or RT 5 & 20. Pitsburg gang can cruise up RT 79. All three ways are about the same drive time.
